"That's the way, a huh, a huh, I like it.... Eh hemmm!" I'm
sorry, you just caught me working out my next musical mix
with my wondrous
MuSE
. I've been inspired by the
Multiple Streaming Engine program. MuSE allows me to
express my deep appreciation for music like never before. With this program I can decode, mix, encode, and network
stream those fabulous sounds! This is not the muse you hear
of days of old! No way, man! This maiden of beauty is a
modern gal. She can help you mix a total of six encoded
audio bitstreams straight from a network or from files
you've saved on your machine. Yep, this program can decode
mp3 files and oggvorbis for you. And, you can use your
sound card to play your finished master piece locally. Or
you can encoded your delightful symphony of sound as an mp3
and sends it off to a broadcast server so that everyone can
listen to your newest grove.
MuSE let's you work in real time through her easy to use
interface. The program can be run in "batch" mode or you
can remotely control the program through a network. This
feature was the foundation for the program's design. It was
actually created to open up the airways for independent
free speech radios. Just like the rest of the Open Source
community, the creators of this program were out to help
spread the word -- literally.
The interface displays all of the regular buttons. You'll
find a volume, play, pause, and stop controls that can be
used for each individual channel. If you want to post your
newest masterful mixes for the world to hear, you can simply
create an encoded mp3 stream. With severs like shoutcast
you can take your finished products worldwide!
What a little lady, huh?!? I knew she was the one for me
when I saw the price tag -- zip, zero, zilch! So be
creative, speak your mind, and pump up the volume! The
Internet is finally a literal place of free speech and all
it took was one beautiful MuSE! Inspiration is right around
the corner, my dears!
